Maz offers networking opportunities

MARKETERS Association of Zimbabwe (Maz) offers various networking and continuous professional development programmes. The association, whose mandate is to promote the development of the marketing profession in the country, has come up with several programmes that seek to develop human capital.
The ever-changing business landscape requires a paradigm shift in the way business is conducted. Marketing trends world-wide over are changing rapidly and the association has seen it fit to arm the Zimbabwean marketer with skills and tools to effectively operate at a national, regional and international level.
The association holds several programmes throughout the year aimed at developing and educating marketers on best practice in business.
This year, several training programmes including Direct and Digital Marketing, Key Account Management, Sales Management, held in conjunction with the Institute of Marketing Management, with an array of local and regional facilitators, were held by the association.
The workshops hosted by Maz are the perfect stage for networking and exchanging ideas.
The network platforms offered by the association include but are not limited to marketers’ socials, marketers’ breakfast meetings, winter school and the marketers’ convention.
Maz will also host a workshop on revolutionary advertising on September 11 at the Holiday Inn in Harare. The workshop is aimed at equipping and updating the local marketer on international trends in advertising. Theo Blanc, a top Swedish media specialist with more than 20 years experience in the media industry, will facilitate the workshop.
In October, Maz will host a Marketers’ convention, which is a major event on the Maz calendar open to all marketers.
Hosted once every year, the convention is a meeting of minds in the profession and international speakers often grace the occasion which usually runs for three consecutive days. This year’s marketers convention will be held at the Elephant Hills, Victoria Falls, from October 25 to 27.
The marketers’ social is a free monthly programme specifically designed for fully paid up individuals as well as corporate members of the association.
At these socials, marketers meet in an informal environment and discuss issues pertinent to the world of marketing. The social is sponsored by interested corporates. Through these, socials, marketers can meet people in spheres of influence and form win-win strategic alliances.
