‘Expert witness’ in Bennett case merely a general hand

Handsome Poets’ music has been described by festival organisers as “a fresh mix of 1980s music wrapped in cool danceable grooves and tingly pop tunes.”

Last year the Netherlands Embassy brought in a group called Moke that collaborated with Chiwoniso Maraire in an exciting act.

Alexio and Handsome Poets will perform at Hifa’s Telecel Main stage at 10pm on May 3, courtesy of the Embassy and Stanbic Bank.

“If you enjoyed Moke at Hifa last year, expand your experience of the cool current music scene in Holland by catching this performance by the unstoppable Handsome Poets,” Hifa organisers said in a statement.

According to Handsome Poets’ profile, the group recorded their first single Blinded in 2010, which saw them winning major awards and serious adoration from fans.

With their second single Dance (the war is over), and their self-titled album, the band continued to generate the kind of ecstatic response from audiences that journalists normally reserved for established groups.

Kawara said he is excited to collaborate with the group.

“It will be an exciting new experience of working with musicians from a different culture,” he said. “I am looking forward to the show and fans should expect great entertainment.”
