Sport Opinion: Better Than Swaziland, but Then What?

In the upcoming movie, three ladies of the night decide they have had enough of prostitution and plan to venture into a more lucrative business.

Producer Daves Guzha said: “Sinners is an entertaining fictional movie which brings to the fore the perceived intricacies surrounding the much-hyped issue of female rapists.”

Guzha said making the movie was the best thing to do after the success of the play at Theatre in the Park. Patience Gamu is directing the movie while O’Brian Mudyiwenyama is associate producer.

The 90-minute movie has been described by the cast as “a highly entertaining, provocative film that would make viewers think outside the box as well as question their own morality”.

Cast members include some of the country talented actresses in Sarah Mpofu, Eunice Tava and Getrude Munhamo who are well supported by Chipo Bezure, Caroline Mashingaidze, Tawanda  Mavindidze and Nothando Lobengula.

“The cast undoubtedly comprises some of Zimbabwe’s crème de la crème of acting; as a country we can tell our own stories beautifully and professionally,” said Guzha.

He said Sinners was a wake-up call to society to evolve by embracing and discussing some of the issues it preferred to keep under the carpet.

Guzha  said they were planning to screen the movie countrywide through strategic partnerships with major cinema distributors and home entertainment distribution companies. They are also planning to distribute the movie abroad.

“We also plan to publicise the movie through cable television stations and festivals. Locally, most of our distribution will be through flea markets and record bars,” he said.
