A MAN has been kicked out of a church in the US for dressing as Jesus.
Neil Thompson dresses up like Jesus and goes to a new church every week to spread his Christian message.
But when he got to St Paul’s Church in St Louis, Missouri, police were called and he was asked to leave.
“One of the deacons saw me,” he said, “and when I went in the church he met me and he said, ‘Can I help you? What do you want?’ I said, ‘I want to go to church here today’.”
Thompson said he was not allowed in the sanctuary. Church members told him he would have to sit in the hallway.
“So I sat down and the next thing I know four or five police showed up.”
Police say Thompson will not face charges. He wasn’t causing a scene, but they asked him to leave and he did, a spokesman said. — Reuters.
A UK WOMAN has been reunited with her diamond ring — two years after flushing it down the loo and hiring a waste firm to sift through sewage to find it.
After accidentally losing the ring, Joan Speirs paid the company to put a camera into the cesspit tank, reports the Daily Telegraph.
When that didn’t work, the company filtered the 12 000 gallons of waste and even sent a worker into the tank with a metal detector, but to no avail.
But by an amazing coincidence, an employee from the same small family firm stumbled across the ring more than two years later at a sewage works.
Spiers (67) was at the Charlwood Hotel, near Gatwick, when she lost the antique ring which had been given to her by her late husband.
“My husband was the only person who had seen the original photo of the lost ring and recognised it immediately. Two of the smaller diamonds had fallen out but apart from that, it was just in need of a good clean. — Orange news.
COFFIN makers have taken the lid off the raunchy side of their business with a racy calendar of drop dead gorgeous models.
The calendar — produced by Polish funeral experts Lindner — shows models in sexy lingerie draped over the caskets performing movie scenes from films like James Bond, Reservoir Dogs and The Godfather.
The black and white cover shows a close up of a woman in a frilly thong and suspenders holding a gun behind her back, while on the back a couple are seen apparently making love on top of a coffin.
Inside, the months begin with a man being forced in to a coffin at the barrel of a Tommy gun and end with a curvy topless blonde posing in front of a mirror.
Company spokesman Bartek Lindner said: “It has a sort of Hollywood feel with a darker edge.”
But the calendar featuring models from the UK, Germany and Poland has sparked controversy in Catholic Poland.
“This is simply tasteless and shocking. Death is not sexy and the connotations presented in this calendar are disturbing to say the least,” said church spokseman Father Tadeusz Rybnik in Warsaw.
This is not the first time Lindner has come in for a grilling. Last year it provoked similar outrage when it released another calendar of half-naked models posing alongside coffins.“Last year we sold over 3 000 copies of the calendar, this year we hope it will be more,” said Lindner. — Reuters.
