Erratic service, high prices, poor products, extremely slow connection speeds, complete with a customer services attitude that would be more appropriate in a correctional facility. Companies like Econet, NetOne and TelOne would not survive in a competitive industry with the kind of service they provide.
Electronic communications are the life blood of modern society. I have heard of organisations that have relocated out of Zimbabwe principally because of poor telecommunication infrastructure. The GNU should therefore consider licensing MTN and Vodacom in Zimbabwe.
The fact that these companies would stand to lose their customer base should not be a deterrent because Zimbabwe would have a functional telecommunications system.
