Kanye Assault Court Case Postponed

KANYE West will not face charges which followed a fracas with a photographer until May after his case was delayed.

His lawyer has been granted a delay to enter his plea on assault, theft and vandalism charges during a brief court hearing in Los Angeles.

The hip-hop star was arrested at the city’s airport days after performing at September’s MTV Video Music Awards.

A video shot by the gossip website TMZ appeared to show West (31) smashing the flash of a photographer’s camera.

The rapper, whose road manager was also charged over the September 11 incident, could face two and a half years in jail if convicted. The videotape also appeared to show road manager Dan Crawley breaking the photographer’s camera.

Crawley is accused of two counts of assault, two counts of theft and two counts of vandalism and could face up to five years in prison.

The rapper and his team were waiting to clear security before boarding an early morning flight to Hawaii. West’s attorney, Blair Berk, told the court that Monday was the first time she had been allowed to review the police report. — BBCOnline.
