Master Illusionist Back with Another Blockbuster

COURTESY of the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) 2009 with the assistance of the European Commission and the  Embassy of France, the feted French illusionist, Guillaume Vallée, will dazzle audiences at Hifa’s 10th anniversary festival from April 28 to May 3.

Vallée’s first performance in Harare, at Hifa 2007 titled Possible Impossible, was an overwhelming success of blockbuster proportions with tickets to the show selling out within a couple of days of the box offices being opened. His 2009 offering entitled Possible Insolite or “Possible Unusual”, is bound to reproduce the enchantment that saw many ruing the fact that they had not joined the hifAmigos loyalty programme which allows advance-ticket purchases.

Guillaume is a singular conjuror ; his creations are always full of humour and poetry.
In “Possible Insolite” he embodies a musician who plays in an opera orchestra. He’s setting up his tools: a music stand, a clarinet and some scores but these objects have decided to play their own music and to show their own logic! The logic is all the more made unusual through its impertinence and surrealistic daring.
This is a magic show where spectacular illusions invite us to travel in a world of music and fantasy
Guillaume has been a practitioner of the art of illusion from a tender age when even for him the difference between reality and magic was thin. That inner-child-inspired excitement is still evident in his work and has seen him being invited in prestigious festivals all over the world to entertain young and old alike.
His accomplishments are not just a mirage; his acts have won awards in several international competitions against prestigious contestants and are known for their originality.
One thing that makes him a hit with audiences wherever he goes is the fact that beyond his virtuosity this exceptional artist faultlessly and easily establishes a warm and humorous rapport with the audience.
Wanna be astonished?…Come and see the unbelievably unusual becoming the possible in Guillaume Vallée’s “Possible Insolite” at Hifa 2009.
