SAVANNA Tobacco has announced it will review its sponsorship deal for Zimbabwe football’s Division One’s three leagues.
At the beginning of the year, Savanna pegged its sponsorship at $1 trillion.
This has however, been eroded by hyper-inflation, meaning that currently the figure does not buy a loaf of bread.
But at a function at the company’s production factory on Wednesday, the company’s chairman Adam Molai told reporters that the sponsorship package will be reviewed to match the current monetary value. The reviewed figures will however, be publicised at the end of the season.
Zimbabwe’s Division One is made up of three leagues.
The champions from the three leagues gain automatic qualification into the Premier Soccer League at the end of the season.
The company will also sponsor the league’s end of season awards as well as a knock-out competition for the winner in each league and their runners up.
Molai said: “Talking about the future as Savanna, we are geared to continue our partnership with Division One league.” –– Staff Writer.
