Man U Brings Big Guns To SA

MANCHESTER United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has brought his big guns to play South African Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the annual Vodacom Challenge.

 

The legendary Ferguson, who guided United to the English Premiership title and to triumph in the final of the European Champions League last season, has included all his star internationals — except those who featured for their countries at the recent Euro 2008 championship.

Local fans will see English international superstar Wayne Rooney in action for the first time when United tackle Kaizer Chiefs in the opening Challenge clash at Newlands, Cape Town, tomorrow afternoon. United play Orlando Pirates in the second Challenge showdown at Durban Kings Park Stadium on Tuesday night,

The two Soweto rivals meet at the EPRU Stadium next Thursday night with the winner playing United in the Challenge final at Loftus next Saturday afternoon.
