HOLLYWOOD actress Nicole Kidman gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named Sunday Rose.”Nicole and Keith Urban are delighted to announce that Nicole Kidman gave birth to a baby girl on Monday morning, July 7, 2008 in the United States,” her agent, Allen Eichhorn, said in a statement.
The infant was delivered in the United States and weighed 2,93 kgs at birth.
“Husband Keith was by Nicole’s side, and mother and baby are very well,” Eichhorn said.
Kidman, who won an Oscar in 2002 for her role in The Hours, adopted a boy and a girl when she was married to Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. Her first marriage lasted about 10 years from 1990 to 2001. She married country music star, Grammy winner, Keith Urban, also an Australian citizen as her, in June 25, 2006.
“She’s never been happier and healthier,” a close family friend said. “She is absolutely radiant and enjoying nesting and homemaking with Keith at their new home in Nashville.”
One Kidman source said before the birth, Urban penned a song titled Sunday about his little miracle-to-be.
“(Urban and Kidman) knew the sex of the baby beforehand, and once Keith wrote the song, they thought it was the perfect name for their baby,” said the Kidman source. “They really didn’t know she’d almost be born on Sunday.”
“Nicole is a Catholic, and Sunday was an important religious day for her until she was involved in Scientology,” said the source. “She’s still bitter about her experience with Scientology and the fact her baby’s name could be perceived as one last jab doesn’t exactly upset her.”
What’s up next for the new family of three? “They’re going to nest in Nashville for a while.” –– Showbizspy.
