SONGBIRD Rihanna says she is plagued by people trying to befriend her because she is famous, but says her “bull detector†helps her distinguish between the fakes and her real friends.
“I have a good bull detector so I’m very good at figuring out who is real and which people want to be my friend because of what I am versus who I am,†she says.
The Umbrella hitmaker is rumoured to be dating fellow singer Chris Brown and The Good Girl Gone Bad has played coy — when it comes to her “friendship†with fellow R&B stunner Chris Brown, 19. But the singer unsealed her glossy lips in Elle’s June issue.
“We’ve always been friends,†she tells the magazine, “but we’re very close now.â€
Although the Barbados-bred beauty, who is currently on tour with Kanye West, does not comment any further on her relationship with Brown, she does put to rest the rumours regarding the other man in her life: mentor and boss Jay-Z.
“I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, ‘You’re asking, but you know the answer,’†she says of the rap mogul, who married Beyoncé in April — to Rihanna’s surprise. “I don’t even like to address it anymore.â€
Asked about how she copes with her hectic lifestyle, she states that she does it by surrounding herself with her best friends.
She adds, “I keep good people around me. My best friends are always there for me. They’re honest and they keep me in check.â€
The singer (20) also revealed she thinks women should not get too obsessed with finding love, and thinks it’s more important to find happiness alone.
She added: “You shouldn’t depend on a guy to make your life better or good at all.â€â€” Showbizspy.com
