Caps United’s Losing Streak Continues

Caps United….(1) 2  Monomotapa…(0) 3

THE gloomy spell continues for Caps United coach Luke Masomere after his side were handed a fourth successive defeat by Monomotapa at Gwanzura Stadium yesterday.

Caps led at the half-time break through a goal from a free kick by Zimbabwe midfielder Method Mwanjali.

Monomotapa equalised in the second half after Caps goalkeeper Tsungi Mudzamiri spilled and midfielder Tendai Samanja capitalised with a header.

But striker Limited Chikafa’s header restored United’s lead moments later. This only served to inspire Monomotapa, who are coached by former Zimbabwe captain Norman Mapeza. They were clearly the better side, stitching uninterrupted passes to the disgust of the Caps fans.

They equalised again through attacking midfielder Charles Chiutsa, who took full advantaged of appalling marking by Caps to neatly tuck past Mudzamiri.

Chiutsa’s header then sealed victory for Monomotapa and with it, more trouble for Masomere. — Staff Writer.
