Kiglon in fine run

LEAGUE debutants Kiglon and Gunners will be hoping to maintain their 100% record this weekend as the premier league enters its third week.

When the league started, no soccer analyst thought Kiglon and Gunners would win their first two matches as traditional giants, Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United were expected to set the pace.
The newcomers have however managed to justify their presence in the premier league although it is too early conclude anything.
Log leaders Kiglon host 9th placed Njube Sundowns at Chibuku Stadium tomorrow in a match coach Lloyd Mutasa said losing was not on their agenda.
“We have a balanced team and while we respect every team, we are aiming at nothing short of victory as all our players are in good shape,” Mutasa yesterday.
Mutasa said he was happy with the team’s performance which has been improving since the beginning of the season.
Last week Kiglon beat Shooting Stars 1-0 while Njube Sundowns will be hoping to add more points after recording their first victory of the season beating Monomotapa 2-1.
Fellow newcomers Gunners who are separated from Kiglon on a goal difference date Lengthens at Gwanzura. Lengthens are coming in the match with their tail up after beating log anchors Underhill 2-1 last week.
Coach Bigboy Mawiwi who is always reluctant to say much before a match said he was confident of another victory.
“We will play our normal game. We want to maintain the standard we have set which can only be maintained by hard work, definitely we are going out to win,” said Mawiwi.
Another debutant, Underhill who are yet to register a point in top flight football, host Shooting Stars tomorrow.
Motor Action clash with Monomotapa who are yet to accumulate any points at Dzivarasekwa Stadium on Saturday. Motor Action won 2-0 against Masvingo United last week.
CAPS United  will be hosted by Lancashire Steel who have not scored a goal in 180 minutes of football on Sunday, while Masvingo United will be hoping to avoid their third defeat in a row against Chapungu in front of their home crowd.
Highlanders host Chapungu who are yet to concede a goal this season at Barbourfields as Dynamos who have a bad history of losing vital points in Mutare take on Eastern Lions at Sakubva.
