THIS is an open letter to the president of the Movement for Democratic Change, Morgan Tsvangirai.
Mr President, I am glad to be accorded this opportunity to comunicate with you through a widely-read newspaper. This letter comes in
the wake of speculation that your party is contemplating a poll boycott unless there is a new constitution. I know, Mr Tsvangirai, that the constitution that you are calling for may go a long way in resuscitating the electoral system but if the hard-headed Mugabe says no to it, I see no wisdom in you saying no to participation in the polls.
Mugabe has decampaigned himself through shortages of basic commodities, countrywide blackouts, cemented by a 26 000% inflation rate.
The electorate needs you during these darkest hours. With all humility, with all my poverty, I call for your cooperation during these decisive moments.
Nyasha Majoni,
Kwekwe.
