THE annual Verandah Gallery Charity Art Exhibition takes place on Sunday at 16 Woodholme Rd, Emerald Hill.
Now in its 15th year, it has become a firm favourite with enthusiastic art-lovers as well as those who just enjoy the hap
py atmosphere of this outdoor exhibition. As you wander around looking through the array of artworks from many of Zimbabwe’s highly talented artists, you will also be able to listen to the cool sounds of the Detema Jazz Band who so generously give up their time each year for this event.
You will be able to relax and recharge with Afdis wines and refreshments provided by the Vabatsiri Soroptimists Club. A commission of 25% of the painting sales is donated each year to the Emerald Hill Children’s Home and the Emerald Hill School for the Deaf.
Also this year, for the first time there will be a few works of stone sculpture for sale from the Friends of the National Gallery stand. You will be able to support the visual arts by becoming a member of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and, in doing so, your name will be entered into a draw to win a stunning sculpture.
* The Verandah Gallery opens Sunday, July 30 from 10am to 4pm. Entrance $300 000 (children under 12 free).
