Pamire not contesting DeMbare elections

By Colleen Tafireyi

DYNAMOS interim chairman Ignatius Pamire has said he will not contest for the substantive position if elections are held at the turbulent Harare side. Pamire said in an exclusive intervie

w with this paper last week that he had found it proper not to run for the hot seat at the club.

The Sports and Recreation Commission is currently planning to hold elections at Dynamos in efforts to end more than three years of leadership squabbling.

“I have done a lot for this club and I believe giving others a chance will be the best of decisions,” said Pamire. “A lot of things are happening on the sidelines including wars to seize control of this club. To be honest, I came to the team to only help and I feel I have done my part. I don’t want to be seen as a dictator clinging to power but as someone who contributed to the better of Dynamos. I will therefore not stand for elections.”

The interim committee, formerly headed by Simon Makaza before he resigned has been at the helm of Dynamos for the past three years.

Constant squabbles have rocked the club as founder members battled to gain control over the club.

Pamire and his colleagues in the current interim committee recently came under fire from Dynamos fans over the team’s poor results as well as shambolic plans for the trip to Ghana.
