HIGH-RIDING premiership log leaders Caps United have concluded a merchandising deal with clothing company Ruffcuts, IndependentSport has established.

Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif”>Arthur Choga, the executive member responsible for mar-keting at Caps United said this week the team had already received a set of uniforms from Ruffcuts.

“We received the first batch of branded kits designed in South Africa a couple of weeks ago as part of our deal with Ruffcuts. The other set of kits will be delivered soon,” said Choga.

The deal with Ruffcuts is part of Caps United’s efforts at turning fully professional since the decision was reached in 2002.

The deal will also see the 1996 Premier Soccer League champions emulate internationally-renowned clubs in selling replica jerseys, scarfs and banners across the country. Joe Makuvire, Caps United’s general manager said they would open a shop to sell their merchandise.

“We signed a long-term contract with Ruffcuts in December and our fans must be on the look-out because very soon the market will be flooded by our range of products,” said Makuvire. “Ruffcuts will be doing everything on our behalf and replica jerseys and other materials will be available across the country. A huge consignment will be arriving from China soon and we will open a shop in town.”

Makuvire also said the Harare-based club has launched website address www.capsunited.com

Caps United is into another partnership with Belgium-based Euro ClubServices through which it has secured kits and material for merchandise.
