Mutsauki named first ZOC chief executive

THE Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) has appointed veteran sports administrator Robert Mutsauki its first chief executive officer on a four- year contract.



erdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif”>ZOC president Paul Chingoka said at the announcement conference yesterday that a need had arisen within the body due to growing capacity, to employ a full-time official to run the association on a day-to-day basis.

Mutsauki is being elevated from his previous voluntary post of secretary-general of the association.


“We are confident that with the CEO in place, ZOC will become a model national Olympic committee not just in Africa, but in the Olympic movement as a whole,” said Chingoka.


A seasoned sports administrator, Mutsauki was selected from a list of 22 applicants. He is a former president of the then Amateur Athletic Association of Zimbabwe and member of the Sports and Recreation Commission.

Mutsauki has also managed the Zimbabwe Olympic and Commonwealth Games teams.
