Pakistani trade delegation expected

A NINE-MEMBER Pakistani trade delegation will arrive in the country next week on a four-day mission aimed at exploring business opportunities in Zimbabwe.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Pakistan embassy in Harare said it

was working with the Ministry of Industry and International Trade, the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce, ZimTrade and the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries on the planned visit.

“The visit of the Pakistan trade delegation is expected to encourage and facilitate close contacts between the business communities of the two countries to enhance bilateral trade, commercial and investment ties between Pakistan and Zimbabwe,” the Pakistan embassy in Harare said.

“The objective of the visit is to enhance bilateral trade relations, to explore the local market for Pakistan products and to discuss other allied issues with their Zimbabwean counterparts,” the embassy added.

Pakistan and Zimbabwe established a Joint Commission in 1983.

The Joint Commission envisages the strengthening of trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, said the embassy.
