LEISURE resort hotel Mazvikadei is reducing its bed and breakfast fares in a bid to attract customers during its 10th anniversary celebrations.

“We decided to reduce our fares because we feel this is an important event on our calendar,” said managing director and owner JR Ranchhod.

“As you know we are celebrating our 10th anniversary and want customers to benefit from the offer.”

He said the company was also organising a special weekend package for all patrons.

The package includes free accommodation on Friday nights and two nights dinner, bed and breakfast plus Sunday braai.

“The package costs $350 000 per person,” Ranchhod said. “It also includes special rates for conferences for the business community.”

The move comes as Zimbabwe’s tourism industry has been facing a downturn because of the negative publicity due to its controversial resettlement programme.

Ranchhod said business was quiet at the moment but he hoped it would pick up as tourists and companies intensify theorising for the year with conferences at the resort.

“We are optimistic about the future,” he said. “The special package should make business pick up here.”

Several institutions, especially from the banking sector, have booked conference space at the leisure resort hotel.
