Ruvimbo to take shape soon

By Patrick Kennan

KENNAN Properties has announced the launch of a new industrial/commercial park in Mukuvisi, Msasa – the Ruvimbo Industrial Park.

ca, sans-serif”>The park is located at the end of Hillside Road South and across the railway line from the existing Msasa industrial area. It has been created out of an old tobacco estate which was originally granted to the Imperial Tobacco Company and developed as such and more recently used by Transtobac (Pvt) Ltd.

The land which measures some 15,1071 hectares has had over the years a variety of buildings constructed upon it including factories, warehouses, an office block, clubs, a cinema, a clinic, house and other ancillary buildings.

The developers are in the process of upgrading the roads, sewer, water and electrical reticulation systems. The strategy has been to create a secure environment with an internal ring road with only two entrance and exit points which can be security controlled.

The land has been divided into a number of individual units which will be offered to the public for sale.

Because most of the original buildings are still standing, the variety of different types of accommodation for sale is immense ranging from vacant stands to units fully covered with buildings. Unit sizes also range enormously from very small workshops and offices to huge warehouses and factories catering for a wide cross-section of industrial and commercial users. Almost everyone should be able to find a property to suit their particular needs.

Adjacent to the industrial park is a section of land formally used for worker housing by the tobacco estate which has been developed into a small low-cost residential park. There are 370 units in the development with vacant serviced stands and a wide variety of small-scale residential accommodation on offer.

This development should be a breath of fresh air to commuters, many of whom are spending up to $75 000 a month on transport. From Ruvimbo residential park one can walk to work.
