THE first Cabaret Night At Meikles for 2005 will have a Valentine’s theme, as a result of being set up for the weekend leading to St Valentine’s Day.
The event will also move from being a one-night affair to a two-nig
ht series, opening up to a larger number of guests wanting five-star entertainment and hospitality during the most romantic time of the year.
Meikles Hotel operations manager (food and beverage) Russell Hadley said the two cabaret nights would be held tonight and tomorrow heralding a weekend of romance and special offers for guests of the five-star hotel. The Cabaret Night At Meikles will again be held in the hotel’s Stewart Rooms, offering a four-course dinner, lucky draws, music and dancing.
Entertainment for this event will come from a first-rate dance group, Danzation, made up of trained dancers from the National Ballet, and from one of Zimbabwe’s longest-running discos, MIB, hosted by Brian and Brent Sidwell. Adding to the line-up will be Tony Vas, one of Zimbabwe’s leading saxophonists.
“We have decided to run our popular cabaret over two nights, giving people two options from which to choose,” said Hadley.
“As this year’s Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday, we decided the cabarets should take place on the Friday and Saturday nights preceding this date and we feel this will again be well supported, perhaps this time especially so by couple wanting a romantic evening out with top cuisine and entertainment, plus a chance to dance.”
Cabaret Night At Meikles was launched in mid-2004 and has become a highly popular event on the Harare social calendar, attracting families, couples, large groups and corporate hospitality tables. — Own Correspondent.
