WARRIORS goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro could bounce back to the domestic scene in Caps United colours on Sunday during a titanic clash involving the premier league pacesetters and former champio
ns Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium.
Murambadoro, who recently returned from a six-month stint at South Africa’s Hellenic, has been part of Caps’ intensive preparations for Sunday’s encounter.
Caps mentor Charles Mhlauri said Murambadoro would be considered for selection on Sunday if he proves to be in fine form.
The hugely built Gokwe-born goalkeeper also said if selected he was itching to join Caps’ trailblazing outfit. “I have fully recovered from the injury which had laid me off for over a month and I am in good shape,” Murambadoro said yesterday.
He however will have to work extremely hard to get the nod for the number one jersey ahead of former Wankie goalkeeper Witness Munkhuli. The veteran goalie has put up fine performances to contribute towards Makepekepe’s sensational nine-point lead, almost halfway through the championship.
Murambadoro missed out on three Warriors’ encounters last month due to a head injury he sustained at the end of the South African 2003/04 season while turning out for Hellenic.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Murambadoro could leave for trials in Europe via South Africa in the next three months.
