Taibu’s brother back

KUDZAI Taibu, young brother to Zimbabwe cricket captain Tatenda Taibu, has been rendered another chance to revive his promising cricket career after being re-enrolled at the CFX National Academy for the mid-year intake.

Kudzai (20) was one of the brightest prospects of the youth brigade in Zimbabwe cricket, but indiscipline and wayward behaviour cost him his place in provincial first-class side Manicaland two seasons ago.

A sound top-order batsman who can bowl at medium pace and off-spin, Taibu is making a return to the national academy for a second spell after being laid off in June last year.

Other players entering the academy are Ryan Bennett, Archibald Chirinda, Chamunorwa Chibhabha, Tafadzwa Mufambisi, Greg Strydom, Sean Williams, Ian Nicolson, Keith Dabengwa, Kudakwashe Samunderu, Craig Ervine, Waddington and Allan Mwayenga, Tinashe Hove and Trevor Garwe..

The Zimbabwe cricket national selection panel, which now selects players to the academy, has not finalised on the remaining new intakes. — Staff Writer.
