CAMEO has a glorious chance to consolidate its lead atop the Bohlingers Lager Basketball Men’s A League as the team has an easy assignment against lowly-placed South Central
at Richwood Park in Harare tomorrow. Following a 66-35 victory over Gentlemen’s Association in one of the double fixtures last week, Cameo leads the table with 22 points, two ahead of title rivals Hawks.
Cameo lost 44-65 to UZ Stars in the other match last weekend but still stayed on top of the log and well on course to win the championship.
Second-placed Hawks, credited so far with managing to maintain pressure on the log leaders will tomorrow square up against a strong challenge from third-placed Highdon Raiderz in Mufakose. The team is indeed well in the running for the championship
Hawks also had mixed fortunes last weekend, winning 59-50 over UZ Stars but losing 43-49 to Highfield Assassins.
In the Women’s League the battle for the championship also pits log leaders Cameo and second-placed Hawks.
Cameo takes on bottom-placed Kingdom Cavaliers at Richwood Park tomorrow and is tipped to triumph while Hawks engage Highdon Raiderz in Mufakose.
Cameo leads the Women’s League log with 18 points, four ahead of Hawks.
