Regional sides for rugby fest

By Brain Murandu

UGANDA’S Kampala select side and Botswana’s Maru-a-pula school are set to grace this year’s Cottco schools rugby festival scheduled to run from April 26 to May 1 at Prince Edward High School

, Harare.

The festival which has been running for over six years is designed to foster development of the sport in non-traditional rugby- playing schools.

Talent has been ide-ntified yearly in the extravaganza but existing sporting structures have not been able to absorb much of it.

Meanwhile, selectors to choose a national schools side to participate in the Craven Week festival to be staged in South Africa in July are also expected to take advantage of the annual event.

Gifford High School of Bulawayo, Eaglesvale, Midlands Christian College and Prince Edward are expected to take part.
