REALITY was slowly catching up with Dynamos that the club could finally be relegated from the Premier Soccer League (PSL), and that is explained by the way their timely 2-0 win against Hwange at Rufaro last Sunday was exuberantly celebrat
ed by the thousands of the club’s loyal fans after the final whistle.
But then the real battle to quash those relegation fears has only just started for DeMbare, and their match against Black Rhinos at Rufaro on Sunday is central to the team’s ambition.
Dynamos jumped two places from the relegation zone after their win over Hwange, but are tied on points with Chapungu who are third from the bottom. To survive the chop, the former dominant club have to win most of their remaining nine matches, if not all depending on how other teams will be performing.
Dynamos usually have little trouble with Black Rhinos even in their blighted state, and again they will look to the deft pair of linkman Mtshumayeli Moyo and winger Givemore Manuella who have been the club’s leading players this season.
Rhinos are not a very bad side for their second-from-bottom position, but their inconsistency was summed up by the 2-4 defeat to Railstars in Bulawayo on Saturday. But the realisation that they also have to start winning might spur them against Dynamos.
