Rhinos aim to gore leaders Bosso

IN past seasons Black Rhinos have proved tough opponents for Premier Soccer League log leaders Highlanders.

Again the army side hosts Bosso at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday believing they have the best opportunity so far in the season to beat the steam-rolling Bulawayo giants w

ho have not dropped a point in seven league matches.

“It’s positive pressure on us,” said Rhinos attacking midfielder Lazarus Muhoni. “We admit that Highlanders are a strong side but we have potential to be equally strong like the soldiers we are. We are determined to close the gap.”

Muhoni, who has a good goal-scoring record from the midfield, scored the first goal for Rhinos in their morale-boosting 2-0 away win in Hwange last weekend.

“We began the season well but lost ground due to bad refereeing. The only game we lost fairly was against Chapungu,” he said.

“We are now rebuilding again after the Hwange win last week and we are looking for a win over Highlanders to begin that rebuilding in earnest.”

In other scheduled matches, Dynamos relive the scene of their great escape at Mucheke Stadium on the last day of the season when they overcame Masvingo to avoid relegation. On current form, it could be anyone’s game on Sunday.

At the National Sports Stadium on Sunday, Caps United coach Gishon Ntini has a chance to ease pressure on himself as a heated campaign by fans to have him fired following poor results intenfifies. Caps host Hwange hoping to record a win after a three-match winless streak.
