THE media rivalry between Standardind and Fingaz resumes tomorrow at the University of Zimbabwe in the third round of this year’s Communications League season.
T face=”Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif”>Standardind, comprising staff from the Zimbabwe Independent and the Standard newspapers will be seeking to exorcise the ghost that haunted them on four occasions that they met the team from the business weekly Financial Gazette last year.
Fingaz edged Standardind in reverse league matches 3-2 and 1-0 last year before knocking their rivals from the league cup’s semi-finals 1-0.
Fingaz also won a $100 000 winners-take-all challenge match during the mid-season.
State-owned media house Zimpapers, in its debut season in the league faces a third defeat in a row at the hands of giants DStv.
Zimpapers lost the first two matches 2-0 and 7-0 to Cosmopots and Copy World respectively.
Tomorrow’s other potential thriller pits last season’s league runners-up Nashtec and Pungwe Stars at Belgravia Sports Club.
