Shottists impress in SA

THE third leg of the South African Practical Pistol Championships were held in Alberton, South Africa, last weekend with 10 Zimbabwe shottists achieving some impressive results.

ca, sans-serif”>Leading the way was Zimbabwe’s national champion, Ian Kay, who finished 11th overall. Warren King finished 17th and was closely followed by Duv Sutherland-McLeod, who came 129th.

Absent from the event was Mashonaland’s top shottist, Paul Friendship. On her return to action, Becky Kay from Matabeleland finished a creditable 69th overall and also won a bronze medal in the ladies section.

King also won a silver medal, coming second in the “B” division.

Sutherland-McLeod won a gold medal for finishing first in the “C” division.

The Zimbabwe Practical Pistol team will be taking part in the World Shoot in Equador next month. – Staff Writer.
