THE Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) has appointed rugby administrator Ezra “Ziggy” Zigarwe as its inaugural development officer. In his new job, Zigarwe will oversee development work being im
plemented by the national associations of different sporting disciplines affiliated to the ZOC.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will soon disburse money to its global affiliates including the ZOC to fund developmental programmes to be proposed by the individual associations. They will report to the ZOC developmental officer who will scutinise the proposals before final approval and disbursement of funds.
Zigarwe, a former rugby player and youth international, commands respect for his administrative skills as development and communication manager of the Zimbabwe Rugby Union for which he was an executive member.
