THE Africa-USA International Chamber of Commerce (AfUSA) last month held the first Africa-USA Trade Conference and Africa Trade Pavilion, as part of the 15th Annual Los Ange
les Black Business Expo and Trade Show (Labbets).
The combined events were held at the Los Angeles Convention Centre between September 11 and 14.
The next conference and trade pavilion are scheduled for September 10-12 next year.
Speakers, exhibitors and conferees represented Africa, the USA and the Caribbean region.
Issues examined during the conference were international trade, financing trade and investments, computer technology and telecommunications, tourism, health issues, agribusiness and infrastructure development.
A highlight of the conference and trade show was the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MOU). The MOU between AfUSA, the City of Los Angeles and the regional government of Limpopo, South Africa references the recent airport development deal secured by AfUSA and a team of Los Angeles business and government leaders.
The project is to develop the Pietersburg International Airport.
