THE Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe is hosting the first-ever Insurance Expo from September 16 to 18.
The expo, which
is being run under the theme “Building insurance awareness – adding customer value” – is being held after years of silence in the industry, even during periods of questioning about HIV and Aids and numerous mergers.
The institute has commissioned the services of a communications consultancy to ensure the success of this inaugural event.
“For as long as most people can remember, the insurance industry has remained a closed domain, with few people understanding its workings,” said Fourth Dimension (Pvt) Ltd senior consultant Chipo Mashingaidze.
Fourth Dimension is the coordinating firm.
“This has resulted in the build-up of unwarranted suspicion and uncertainty regarding the industry. The Insurance Expo aims to plant a seed of open communication with the public, thus building public confidence in the degree of professionalism in the industry.”
The inaugural Insurance Expo, which will take place at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), will accommodate all players in the insurance industry and related sectors.
