Mugabe must swallow his pride and go

ALLOW me space to congratulate you for your excellent coverage of the involvement of the army in the 2002 presidential election.

ns-serif”>I am sure the evidence which your paper has is adequate enough for Robert Mugabe to step down, realising that he was misled into believing that the election was free and fair.

Many may argue that Mugabe already knows that the army was involved in rigging the election, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he really was not aware that the election was rigged.

After the revelations by your paper, Mugabe, assuming that he genuinely was not aware of the rigging that took place, should now challenge the courts of law to speed up the hearing of the case in the courts so that the truth is established.

If Mugabe does not use his influence to get the case heard sooner rather than later, then I hold him responsible.

Benjamin Chitate,

Harare.
