IT is with great shock and anger that we learn of the closing down of Trust Bank.
This is because we had great confidence in the central bank governor’s assurance
s. He assured us when we wanted to take out our money after Old Mutual dumped their deal that everything was under control.
All along we have been banking on his assurances that no more banks would be closed. Now all of a sudden they shut down Trust. To inflict pain they did this a week before the capitalisation requirements deadline in an attempt to make sure that they confiscate our hard-earned money.
Why should depositors suffer? We are not even involved in decisions of the bank.
Now we know that just like a politician we should never trust any schemes engineered by the governor.
