Surprising coincidences

ISN’T it a coincidence, that when a junior minister announces that he’s launching regional newspapers, the next moment we hear that a new newspaper has been licensed by the Media and Information Commission (MIC) quicker than you can say ”

Daily News”?

Isn’t it a coincidence that this Daily Times is owned by a “Zimbabwean consortium” when we know that some time ago Strive Masiyiwa refused to sell the Daily News to a Zimbabwean consortium? Isn’t it a coincidence that a “former ZBC staffer” is at the forefront of this newspaper when the said staffer is not known in the print media?

Isn’t it a coincidence that a man with journalism in his blood like Francis Mdlongwa would only be involved in an advisory capacity when we would expect him to be fully invloved? What does he know that we don’t know? What other “coincidences” await us around the corner?

Chimedzanemburungwe,

Harare.
