Mhlauri deserves credit

PEOPLE should make criticism based on common sense when it comes to the Warriors’ defeat to Nigeria on Saturday.

How can we expect to develop our young players wh

en they can’t experience playing against Nigeria?

Secondly, what if, come January, Tinashe Nengomasha, Benjani Mwaruwari, Esrom Nyandoro and George Mbwando are all injured? Should we stop taking part just because Honour Gombami and Ashley Rambanepasi are not ready for battle?

People are forgetting that we only have two players playing in strong Europe leagues – Mwaruwari and Cephas Chimedza – and Brian Badza is not playing in Belgium. The rest are just average players.

I think Mhlauri should be given credit for giving these inexperienced players a chance to develop themselves.

And one more thing: if I were Mhlauri I would resign because with this crop of players and Zifa with no money for friendlies and allowances, this team will not go past the first round in Egypt – even with Vanderlei Luxemburgo as the coach and assisted by Arsene Wenger.
